1. Placement for Maximum Efficiency
- Position blankets in the main airflow path (e.g., near fans) to ensure optimal ethylene absorption. This ensures constant exposure to ethylene circulated by the airflow.
2. Sizing and Installation
- Match blanket size to the diameter of fan blades in coolers/warehouses for optimal coverage.
- Use one blanket per fan to maintain effective ethylene control across all airflow sources.
3. Dirt Accumulation
- Normal for blankets to collect dirt on the exterior. The material traps airborne particles while filtering ethylene. Dirt does not impair function unless airflow is physically blocked (rare).
4. Bead Color Change & Replacement
- Fresh beads: Bright purple.
- Used beads: Turn brown from the surface inward as ethylene is oxidized.
- Replace when 80% of beads are brown.
To check activity:
- Crush a brown bead. If the core is purple, it's still active.
- If the core is brown, the bead is depleted.
